Virginia Beach is home to Naval Air Station Oceana, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek–Fort Story, and Dam Neck, which means an unusually large share of the city's adults are active-duty, recently separated, or married to someone who is. Our founder served twenty-two years in the Navy, and our practice has a specific page for veterans and military families. Deployment stress, transition, sleep problems that outlast a sea tour, and PTSD that surfaced years later are everyday work here.

The city also has a large population of professionals, teachers, healthcare workers from Sentara Virginia Beach General and Sentara Princess Anne, and small-business owners for whom a rushed fifteen-minute medication visit is not enough. • SPRAVATO® (esketamine) for treatment-resistant depression through TRIP, our insurance-supported interventional service line
• BHRT evaluations for perimenopause and menopause-related mood, sleep, and brain-fog symptoms

South Chesapeake Psychiatry is self-pay for evaluations and medication management; a 60-minute initial evaluation is $300, and we provide superbills on request for out-of-network reimbursement. SPRAVATO® treatment through TRIP is billed to insurance. Details are on our pricing page.

Getting here

Getting to Our Office From Virginia Beach

Our office is at 200 Carmichael Way, Suite 604, Chesapeake, VA 23322, in the Edinburgh area off Battlefield Boulevard South. From Kempsville and Centerville, take Centerville Turnpike or Kempsville Road south into Chesapeake and continue to Battlefield Boulevard; most clients make it in about twenty minutes. From Town Center, Great Neck, and the Oceanfront, I-264 west to I-64 east, then I-464 south to the Battlefield Boulevard exit, is typically twenty-five to thirty-five minutes outside of rush hour. From Princess Anne, Red Mill, and Sandbridge, Princess Anne Road to Mount Pleasant Road (Route 165) is a pleasant back-road route that avoids the interstate entirely.

If the drive is the obstacle, it does not have to be. Virtual evaluations and follow-up visits are available to anyone physically located in Virginia at the time of the appointment, and many Virginia Beach clients alternate between video and in-person visits. Free parking is available on site.
